Higher Water Bills? - North Texas homeowners are beginning to see higher water bills due to increased usage and higher rates. While Windmill Farms (Phase 1) rates have not increased in recent years, future increases are possible. Twice Weekly Watering Now Permitted - Watering restrictions have been relaxed. Residents can now water their lawns twice weekly. Conservation, however, continues to be a priority. Vote in the May 4 Bond and Maintenance Tax Election

KCFWSD1-B residents are encouraged to vote in the upcoming May 4 Bond and Maintenance Tax  Election. The propositions relating to the district's infrastructure and facilities are:

PROPOSITION A
SHALL THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS (THE "BOARD") OF KAUFMAN COUNTY FRESH WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT NO. 1-B ( THE "DISTRICT") BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF THE DISTRICT IN ONE OR MORE ISSUES OR SERIES, MATURING SERIALLY OR OTHERWISE OVER A PERIOD NOT TO EXCEED FORTY (40) YEARS FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED THE MAXIMUM AUTHORIZED BY LAW AT THE TIME SUCH BONDS ARE ISSUED (IN WHOLE OR IN PART THEREOF), ALL AS MAY BE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD, IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF SIX MILLION AND NO ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,000,000.00) FOR THE PURPOSE OR PURPOSES OF PURCHASING, CONSTRUCTING, ACQUIRING, OWNING, OPERATING, REPAIRING, IMPROVING, OR EXTENDING A WATERWORKS SYSTEM, A SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM, AND A DRAINAGE AND STORM SEWER SYSTEM, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ALL ADDITIONS TO SUCH SYSTEMS AND ALL LAND, IMPROVEMENTS, FACILITIES, PLANTS, EQUIPMENT, APPLIANCES, INTERESTS IN PROPERTY AND CONTRACT RIGHTS NEEDED THEREFOR, AND ADMINISTRATIVE FACILITIES NEEDED IN CONNECTION THEREWITH, AND AS WELL AS ALL EXPENSES IN ANY MANNER INCIDENTAL THERETO, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENGINEER'S REPORT FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT; AND SHALL THE BOARD BE AUTHORIZED TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL OF AND THE INTEREST AND REDEMPTION PRICE ON ALL OF SUCH BONDS BY THE LEVY AND COLLECTION ANNUALLY OF A SUFFICIENT TAX UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT, ALL AS AUTHORIZED BY THE CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; SAID BONDS, IF APPROVED, TO BE AUTHORIZED?

PROPOSITION B
SHALL THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS (THE "BOARD") OF KAUFMAN COUNTY FRESH WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT NO. 1-B (THE "DISTRICT") BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF THE DISTRICT IN ONE OR MORE ISSUES OR SERIES, MATURING SERIALLY OR OTHERWISE OVER A PERIOD NOT TO EXCEED FORTY (40) YEARS FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED THE MAXIMUM AUTHORIZED BY LAW AT THE TIME SUCH BONDS ARE ISSUED (IN WHOLE OR IN PART THEREOF), ALL AS MAY BE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD, IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF FOUR MILLION AND NO ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($4,000,000.00) FOR THE PURPOSE OR PURPOSES OF PURCHASING, CONSTRUCTING, ACQUIRING, OWNING, OPERATING, REPAIRING, IMPROVING, OR MAINTAINING MACADAMIZED, GRAVELED OR PAVED ROADS OR TURNPIKES, OR IN AID OF THESE PURPOSES, INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICT, AS WELL AS ALL EXPENSES IN ANY MANNER INCIDENTAL THERETO, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENGINEER'S REPORT FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT; AND SHALL THE BOARD BE AUTHORIZED TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL OF AND THE INTEREST AND REDEMPTION PRICE ON ALL OF SUCH BONDS BY THE LEVY AND COLLECTION ANNUALLY OF A SUFFICIENT TAX UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT, ALL AS AUTHORIZED BY THE CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; SAID BONDS, IF APPROVED, TO BE AUTHORIZED?

PROPOSITION C
SHALL THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF KAUFMAN COUNTY FRESH WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT NO. 1-B BE AUTHORIZED TO ASSESS, LEVY, AND COLLECT AN ANNUAL AD VALOREM TAX, AT A MAXIMUM ANNUAL RATE NOT TO EXCEED $0.20 PER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS OF ASSESSED VALUE OF TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN SAID DISTRICT, TO SECURE FUNDS FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE AND OTHER AUTHORIZED PURPOSES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FUNDS FOR PLANNING, CONSTRUCTING, ACQUIRING, MAINTAINING, REPAIRING AND OPERATING ALL NECESSARY LAND, PLANTS, WORKS, FACILITIES, IMPROVEMENTS, EQUIPMENT AND APPLIANCES OF SUCH DISTRICT, AND FOR THE PAYMENT OF PROPER SERVICES, ENGINEERING AND LEGAL FEES, AND ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, INCLUDING PARTICULARLY SECTION 49.107 OF THE TEXAS WATER CODE, TOGETHER WITH ALL AMENDMENTS AND ADDITIONS THERETO?

Any registered voter within the District is eligible to vote.

The voting location on May 4 is: First Baptist Church of Forney, 1003 FM 741 Forney, TX 75126.

The polls will be open from: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
